Training at Mario Negri
If you have a diploma or are a graduate in science, have an interest in biomedicine, believe that it is worth spending at least one year to improve your education, are inquisitive and feel that scientific research could be a professional goal that pairs well with social obligations, come to the Mario Negri Institute either in Milan or Bergamo, a not-for-profit foundation.
You will find modern laboratories, a stimulating atmosphere and may other young people. The training you will receive will not be theoretical but will be gained participating in real clinical or experimental research projects. You will be able to use sophisticated equipment, use an updated library, attend courses and seminars, and meet people from the world of international scientific research.
Initially you will be enrolled in the professional qualification technical school recognized by the Lombardy Region but if you are interested, have the abilities, and are willing to sacrifice you could complete your education at a prestigious laboratory abroad, or enter into a special program that will allow you to obtain a Ph.D. from the Open University of London, working in Milan or Bergamo. This is a prestigious degree that is recognized not only in Europe but also in the United States.
Initially our study grants are low, unless you already have research experience, as there is not much money in independent scientific research in Italy. But you could quickly improve your "income" if you have the capabilities.
