Alfredo Leonardi
Alfredo Leonardi together with Silvio Garattini founded Mario Negri Institute for
Pharmacological Research.
He was Secretary General of the Institute since its foundation, and he dedicated himself
enthusiastically to his responsibilities within the Institute. He was known and will be remembered
and admired for his professionals competence and wide-spanning skills in administering the
Institute's research facilities, his unswerving dedication to the moral values of science, and his
human qualities.
The Mario Negri Institute could not have been founded and developed internationally without
his fundamental work. He also founded the "
Mario Negri Institute Alumni
Association" .
Professor Leonardi had wanted to create this for many years and finally did in 1993. He
realized the importance of an association whose members had a common background.
