Risk&Prevention
The Risk and Prevention Group stems from the collaboration between the Istituto
di Ricerche Farmacologiche " Mario Negri" and the main associations of Italian General
Practitioners :
Centro Studi e Ricerca in Medicina Generale (CSERMeG);
Federazione Italiana Medici di Medicina Generale (FIMMG);
Consorzio Sanità (CoS);
Associazione Culturale Medica Interdisciplinare (Ass.Cu.M.I.);
Associazione per la Medicina Integrativa e la Sanità Integrata (AMISI).
The collaborative group is the sponsor of the multicentric “Risk and Prevention”
study, at national level.
This study is the first large community trial which is made possible after implementation
of legislation (DM) regulating clinical research in general practice in Italy.
The study is still ongoing , it will last 5 years , involving approximately
1,000 General Practictioners and 12,000 patients.
The aim of the study is important for Public Health : to optimise preventive strategies in
subjects at high cardiovascular risk in the setting of General Practice.
