Where is medicine going? Where should it go?
50th Anniversary Symposium
Medicine today is faced with momentous changes. Ample reflection is needed to deal with new knowledge of genomics and proteomics, the ability to modify the genetic patrimony, exciting prospects for repairing tissues and organs, and patients' expectations for "personalized" therapy - all while tackling the problems raised by globalization.
This new-found information has to be integrated with existing knowledge to ensure everyone has access to evidence-based medicine, while constantly bearing in mind the fact that resources are not infinite. The Mario Negri Institute's 50th anniversary offers its staff and all colleagues this opportunity to hear the opinions of some of Europe's most authoritative public health specialists, patients' representatives, research and regulatory workers, at a symposium entitled "Where is medicine going? Where should it go?".
