The candidate should be able to work efficiently on multiple projects and have excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
A master degree in Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacy or a related scientific field with an emphasis in mass spectrometry, ideally evidenced by his/her thesis and scientific publicationsis required.
Prior experience with biological samples (tissue/biofluids), as well with analytical instrumentation, statistic alanalysis or computer science will be considered as additional assets.

The course lasts for three years.
The position will require working on the design and execution of mass spectrometry imaging projects, focusing on cancer research. The researcher will be involved in all aspects of sample preparation, data collection, and analysis mainly using vacuum and atmospheric pressure MALDI imaging. The project will integrate metabolomic approaches for drug effects in tissues, using other MS techniques, such as HPLC-MS/MS for untargeted analysis, and flow injection MS for targeted analyses.
